Zenith Hygiene Systems Ltd (“ZHS”) the cleaning and hygiene chemical products company today announced that it has acquired Lisburn based SB Chemicals for a total cash consideration of £1.6 million.
SB manufactures cleaning and hygiene products for a range of clients principally in the retail sector such as Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Boots and Tesco. In addition, ZHS is establishing a fully-owned subsidiary to be named ZHS (Ireland) Ltd, to be based at the current SB facility, which will focus on providing hygiene and chemicals products to the industrial and public sector markets in Ireland. ZHS also plans to move its entire research and development facilities based in England to the new Lisburn office.
Sean Hall, Managing Director of SB will continue to be involved in the business and retain his position. The company will also keep the SB name.
Ringo Francis, Chairman & CEO of Zenith, commented:
“This is an important step for us as it not only opens up a sector of the Northern Irish market that we have not traditionally operated in, but also provides an excellent base to grow our operations in Northern Ireland and Ireland over the next few years.”
Sean Hall, Managing Director of SB Chemicals, commented:
“We are very pleased to have struck this deal with Zenith and share the company’s ambitious growth plans for the future. It is clear that Zenith has recognised the many opportunities that exist in Northern Ireland and Ireland and we look forward to growing with them as part of the new enlarged entity.”
